Freedom | Flight | Refuge: Circle Art Gallery

Circle Art Gallery's first exhibition of 2016 entitled "Freedom | Flight | Refuge" explores personal and public issues of freedom, movement and home.

Six contemporary Kenyan artists have made work that interrogates themes of political and economic migration, displacement, persecution, dreams and journeys to another place.

The six artists featured in this exhibition are: Jackie Karuti, Longinos Nagila, Ray Piwi, Onyis Martin, Shabu Mwangi and Sidney Mang'ong'o. The opening night will feature a performance by poet, writer and performer ⎯ Sitawa Namwalie and a reading by award-winning Kenyan author Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor.
